Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it is used, and the limited situations in which another party may receive it. By using Trousdale County Criminal History, you accept the practices stated below.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email sent to us may be retained so that we can answer it. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers receive routine technical details when a page loads:

  • Page-view times and the pages visited
  • Device type and operating system
  • Browser type and version
  • The referring website, when available
  • The device's assigned IP address
  • Approximate time spent on each page

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small device files that help show how visitors move through the site. Analytics services combine that traffic information so we can see which pages are used and where visits end. You may block cookies through browser settings, although doing so can change how some site features work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Routing a search request to the selected partner
  • Finding and correcting technical faults
  • Maintaining reliable site performance
  • Measuring which pages visitors use
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Trousdale County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes directions to official custodians such as Sheriff Records, the Circuit Court Clerk, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not turned into consumer reports or profiles about other people.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the site's search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and sharing rules govern any data entered there. We do not control those practices, so review the selected provider's policy before running a search.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to the Trousdale County government, Tennessee agencies, courts, legal resources, or private search services. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy policy controls. Read it before providing personal information.

Advertising providers may track activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs through their services rather than ours.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Data may be available to:

  • Analytics vendors that measure site traffic and performance
  • Search partners that process a query you submit
  • Advertising networks that serve material on the pages
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand

How We Protect Your Data

We use standard safeguards for information in our control. No internet system can be guaranteed secure, however, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will remove it.

Your Data Rights

Rights may also arise under applicable law. Tennessee's Public Records Act, T.C.A. §§10-7-501 et seq., governs access to state and local government records, while T.C.A. §38-6-120 governs TBI criminal-history dissemination. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government custodian. For information held by us, you may:

  • Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
  • Have us fix information that is wrong
  • Request that we erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
